Jazz Tops Table for Holding its Value 22nd January 2010
The Honda Jazz is Britain's best car for retaining its value according to Parker's annual depreciation report which surveyed almost 300 model ranges.
As well as class-leading residual values, the latest Jazz – which went on sale in 2008 – offers many features of a bigger car such as load space, driving feel and high-spec equipment, but with the great fuel economy, low emissions and more affordable running costs of a small one.
“The latest version of the Honda Jazz picks up where the previous model left off as a very desirable used car,” said Kieren Puffett, editor of Parker's. “A combination of incredible flexibility for a vehicle of its size, the interior space of a much larger car and low running costs make it just as appealing to used car buyers as it does to those choosing new. It proved to be the safest investment on four wheels during 2009.”
The Parker’s survey uses the value of cars, as if they were being sold privately, in good condition with 10,000 miles on the clock and compares this to their cost as new, 12 months earlier.
Small cars showed they are certainly the safest bet for depreciation, taking 35 of the top 40 places in the index.

The 2010 Honda CR-V at Bristol Honda 22nd September 2009
A new-look Honda CR-V will go on sale at Bristol Honda in January 2010, with a new diesel engine and an eagerly-awaited automatic gearbox for diesel models.

New Features:
• Cleaner, more powerful 2.2-litre diesel engine
• Automatic gearbox now available for diesel models
• Revised, more premium styling
• Built in Britain at Honda?s plant in SwindonThe CR-V has consistently topped the SUV sales tables since launch in 2007, with its ample cabin and large, split-level boot offering useful practicality and its low centre of gravity giving the CR-V ?car-like? handling characteristics.
For 2010, the CR-V?s popular looks have been refreshed to incorporate a distinctive new front bumper and grille, a revised rear bumper, and colour coded bumpers on EX grades. There are newly-designed 17-inch (SE) and 18-inch (ES and EX) alloy wheels and upgraded fabrics and plastics inside, giving the CR-V interior an even more premium finish. A new audio console design has also been introduced, while improved sound deadening around the engine and cabin makes the CR-V an even quieter and more relaxing car to drive.
The revised version of the CR-V will continue to be built at Honda of the UK Manufacturing in Swindon, where British workers proudly produce the SUV for over 60 countries.
New i-DTEC and diesel auto transmission
Honda?s 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which debuted in the latest Accord in 2008, will be available in the new CR-V. The diesel produces 150PS at 4000rpm (up 10PS) and torque of 350Nm at 2000rpm (up 10Nm). It can be paired with either manual transmission or the new 5-speed automatic gearbox that has been manufactured in-house by Honda.
The smooth and refined diesel automatic transmission is available on all CR-V model grades from launch in 2010 and all engines in the CR-V line-up are designed to meet Euro 5 legislation.
Value for money
The CR-V has always been recognised as offering value-for-money specification and the new car?s equipment levels will continue to impress.
SE grades come equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, cloth upholstery and power heated door mirrors. Over and above this, ES grades get 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, auto dimming mirror, cruise control, double deck cargo space, dual-zone air conditioning, electric folding mirrors and headlight washers, front and rear parking sensors, front fog lights, half leather Alcantara heated seats, leather steering wheel and gear knob, unique interior inlay trims and USB connector for iPod connectivity.
Meanwhile, top of the range EX grades will get an 8-way driver power seat and electric lumbar support, an alloy step garnish, HID Xenon headlights, full body coloured bumpers, full leather upholstery with heated front seats, panoramic glass roof, rain sensor and auto headlight on function, reverse tilt mirror, DVD satellite navigation with premium audio, 6 CD changer and subwoofer in addition to the ES specification.
Three new paint colours are available for 2010, Premium White Pearl, Urban Titanium and Alabaster Silver. Five other metallic paints are available ? Crystal Black, Polished Metal, Sparkle Grey, Deep Bronze and Deep Sapphire Blue. Milano Red is the solid colour available.
Advanced safety technologies
Two active safety systems continue to be available on the CR-V and are unique to the SUV segment. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a radar-controlled cruise control function which maintains a set distance to the vehicle in front, while Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) predicts collisions and warns the driver, before applying braking and retracting the front seatbelts if the situation becomes critical. These systems are optional on EX models.
Full specifications, pricing and the exact on sale date will be announced later in the year, for further information please contact us today.

Honda Jazz achieves top points for Euro NCAP rating 2nd June 2009
The new Jazz is one of the UK's safest cars, according to the new independent crash test results from Euro NCAP.

Jazz has been awarded the maximum five star rating matching the achievements of the Honda Civic and Accord earlier this year. Euro NCAP?s new rating scheme focuses on the vehicle?s overall safety performance which gives consumers an easy to understand single score. The new system considers passenger protection during impact to the front, side and rear of the car, and pole (if the car impacts with a tree or other fixed narrow object). Child protection, pedestrian protection and the availability of driver safety aids are also considered.
The Euro NCAP rating for Jazz reflects Honda?s commitment to passenger and pedestrian safety. ?Real-world? safety has always been an important consideration for Honda when developing new models. Honda?s car-to-car crash test facility at the Tochigi R&D plant analyses impacts between models of different sizes and weights and develops solutions to avoid injuries for all parties.
FIVE STAR JAZZ SAFETY FEATURES
Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA): Helps the driver to maintain control during cornering, acceleration and sudden manoeuvres; by applying braking to the right or left wheels as necessary and managing the engine torque systems as required.
Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE): The Jazz shell is a protective cocoon constructed of 42 per cent high tensile steel that disperses energy produced from a crash ? boosting protection for its passengers by 20 per cent.
The Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure is now a well-established feature in Honda?s safety armoury. Designed to protect passengers in a variety of ?real-world? crash conditions, these include: a frontal collision between vehicles of differing heights, weights and frame construction. The ACE body structure of the Jazz prevents cabin crumple whilst reducing the chances of vertical or lateral misalignment between the Jazz and another vehicle's safety structures. The ACE structure provides exceptional stiffness which also improves side impact protection.
Pedestrian protection: The Jazz is packed with features to protect pedestrians. Research has shown that these features can dramatically improve a pedestrian's chance of survival if struck by a moving vehicle. Features include: windscreen wiper pivots designed to break away on impact, energy absorbing front wing mounts and bonnet hinges, as well as a clear area beneath the bonnet to allow it to crumple and absorb impact.
Active headrests: The new Jazz is also equipped with front seat active headrests which reduce the likelihood of neck injury in rear impacts. As the occupant is pushed against the seat back, a rigid plate in the seat presses a link to the headrest pushing it up and forward to support the head.
Airbags and seatbelts: Dual front, side and full-length side curtain airbags are fitted as standard on all models; the front seatbelts have load limiting pretensioners. Two ISOFIX fittings in both the left and right rear seats together with tether anchor points in the rear roof ensure correct installation and secure child-seat mounting points.
Braking: The Jazz comes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).

Advanced Technology at Bristol Honda 6th January 2009
Advanced safety technology, like that found on Bristol Honda's latest models, is top of British drivers' wish lists for their next car, according to a new survey by MSN Cars.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) ? number one in the MSN poll ? and Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) are both available in the latest Honda Accord along with a whole host of other safety technologies.
The new Accord was the first D-sector car to feature Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), while the previous generation Accord was the first in its class to bring LKAS to market when launched in 2002. Previously such technology was only available on more expensive cars in the sector above.
Slow speed auto-braking technology is available in the form on Honda?s CMBS which comes as part of the ADAS package on the latest Accord and CR-V. Sensors detect whether a collision is imminent and provide warnings and braking as necessary to warn the driver and lessen the severity of an impact. It works at speeds above 10mph making it suitable for driving around town as well as on motorways.
Of the most desired technologies only a few are readily available in the UK market, but Honda has designs on a number for the future too:
Intelligent Night Vision is already on sale in Japan in the Honda Legend. It uses two infrared cameras to detect heat-emitting objects and determine whether they are in the car?s path. The system also determines whether the object is a pedestrian. With Honda?s commitment to developing safety technologies hopefully it will be on sale on UK Hondas soon.
Active Front Lighting is available on the Honda CR-V and Legend which gives increased illumination and visibility at night. When cornering the headlights swivel up to 20 degrees to illuminate more road surface around a bend and minimise blind spots.
The CR-V?s Rear Parking Camera makes parking a lot easier. Fitted on all CR-Vs with Sat Nav, the camera comes into action when reverse gear is selected. However, Honda?s Smart Parking System, which automatically steers the car into the optimum position for parking, is also in the pipeline.

Honda?s First Diesel Automatic 28th November 2008
Honda has unveiled its first ever automatic box for a diesel and it will be available in the latest Accord at Bristol Honda from January 2009.
The eagerly-awaited diesel auto will appeal to a broader range of customers, particularly in the corporate market, where user choosers munching motorway miles will often only consider an automatic transmission. From the outset, Honda?s intention was to produce a high quality automatic box in-house, rather than compromise the performance of its i-DTEC engine by mating it with an externally supplied transmission.
The new 5-speed unit uses the same straight gate layout and paddle shift system as seen on the Accord petrol automatic earlier this year. CO2 emissions are 170g/km (saloon) and 173-174g/km (tourer) depending on model grade, while fuel economy is 44.1mpg (combined) for the saloon and 42.8mpg (combined) for the Tourer. Both body shapes fall into VED band E and the 25% BIK tax bracket.
