  1. Honda Insight Coming to Bristol Honda 7th January 2009

Arriving at Bristol Honda this Spring.

Bristol Honda is delighted to announce its next big step forward: the new Honda Insight. This 5-door family hatchback will not only deliver great fuel economy, but it will also be priced significantly lower than any other hybrid currently on the market.

The original Honda Insight, launched in 1999, was the pioneer of hybrid technology in Europe. The new Insight will also break new ground by providing all the environmental and economical benefits of a hybrid at a price that’s more affordable than ever before.

And that's not all: the Insight also actively helps you maximise your fuel economy with our unique Ecological Drive Assist System.

  2. Advanced Technology at Bristol Honda 6th January 2009

Advanced safety technology, like that found on Bristol Honda's latest models, is top of British drivers' wish lists for their next car, according to a new survey by MSN Cars.

    Bristol Honda News

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – number one in the MSN poll – and Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) are both available in the latest Honda Accord along with a whole host of other safety technologies.

The new Accord was the first D-sector car to feature Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), while the previous generation Accord was the first in its class to bring LKAS to market when launched in 2002. Previously such technology was only available on more expensive cars in the sector above.

Slow speed auto-braking technology is available in the form on Honda’s CMBS which comes as part of the ADAS package on the latest Accord and CR-V. Sensors detect whether a collision is imminent and provide warnings and braking as necessary to warn the driver and lessen the severity of an impact. It works at speeds above 10mph making it suitable for driving around town as well as on motorways.

Of the most desired technologies only a few are readily available in the UK market, but Honda has designs on a number for the future too:

Intelligent Night Vision is already on sale in Japan in the Honda Legend. It uses two infrared cameras to detect heat-emitting objects and determine whether they are in the car’s path. The system also determines whether the object is a pedestrian. With Honda’s commitment to developing safety technologies hopefully it will be on sale on UK Hondas soon.

Active Front Lighting is available on the Honda CR-V and Legend which gives increased illumination and visibility at night. When cornering the headlights swivel up to 20 degrees to illuminate more road surface around a bend and minimise blind spots.

The CR-V’s Rear Parking Camera makes parking a lot easier. Fitted on all CR-Vs with Sat Nav, the camera comes into action when reverse gear is selected. However, Honda’s Smart Parking System, which automatically steers the car into the optimum position for parking, is also in the pipeline.

  3. Accord - Highest Euro NCAP Crash Test Rating in Class 1st December 2008

The Accord was awarded the first-ever three star pedestrian rating in the large family class, along with 5 star adult protection and 4 star child protection.

"We are delighted with the Euro NCAP result, which confirms the new Accord as the leader for combined adult, child and pedestrian safety in the large family car class. With this rating, and the advanced active safety features of the Accord, our customers can experience the most effective technologies put into practice, with our goal of providing safety for everyone," said Ken Keir, Managing Director, Honda (UK).

Innovative safety features fitted as standard:

    • Active head restraints
    • Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE)
    • Body Structure Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA)
    • Motion Adaptive EPS

    Plus:

    • Dual stage front airbags
    • Driver and front passenger side airbags
    • Front seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters
    • Full length curtain airbags
    • ISOFIX fittings and tether anchor points

A host of advanced safety features are available on the new Accord, placing it at the forefront of its category for safety. It is the first D-sector car to be available with Collision Mitigation Braking System, which comes as part of the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) along with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). ADAS is available as an option on all EX and EX GT models, excluding 2.0-litre EX saloon models.

  4. Honda’s First Diesel Automatic 28th November 2008

Honda has unveiled its first ever automatic box for a diesel and it will be available in the latest Accord at Bristol Honda from January 2009.

The eagerly-awaited diesel auto will appeal to a broader range of customers, particularly in the corporate market, where user choosers munching motorway miles will often only consider an automatic transmission. From the outset, Honda’s intention was to produce a high quality automatic box in-house, rather than compromise the performance of its i-DTEC engine by mating it with an externally supplied transmission.

The new 5-speed unit uses the same straight gate layout and paddle shift system as seen on the Accord petrol automatic earlier this year. CO2 emissions are 170g/km (saloon) and 173-174g/km (tourer) depending on model grade, while fuel economy is 44.1mpg (combined) for the saloon and 42.8mpg (combined) for the Tourer. Both body shapes fall into VED band E and the 25% BIK tax bracket.

  5. Championship White Edition Civic Type R 25th November 2008

The highly anticipated addition to the Civic Type R family is soon to arrive at Bristol Honda. Combining design and performance enhancements over a standard Type R will really make this car stand out in a crowd.

    Changes include:

    • Championship White exterior paint finish
    • Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
    • 18” Championship White Alloy Wheels
    • Unique interior serial plate
    • Unique smoke chrome finish on the door handles
    • Mesh grille surround and fuel filler lid
    • USB port
    • Type R badge kit

  6. Re-Styled Civic for 2009 21st November 2008
